CNC Milling

Milling is a machining process that guides rotary cutters along a tool path in an X, Y and Z direction to remove material from square or flat stock to produce complex shapes.

CNC, or computer numeric control, means that a machines motion is controlled using coding. These codes are generated either manually for basic milling or by using CAM software for more complex shapes and roughing cycles.

CAM stands for computer aided manufacturing.

Our CNC machining centres are capable of machining parts that are both basic and complex using a range of operations that include facing, roughing, drilling, tapping and finishing.

During the machining process, a solid block of material is clamped into the machine using a vice or fixture. Parts can be milled from engineering plastic or metals using similar programs and tooling.
